I spent over 100k on courses and Coaching in this video i’m gonna explain To you my lessons learned and the Mistakes that i made so you can get the Same results that i got from everything For a fraction of the price in fact 90 Of what i bought was pretty Disappointing and it’s hard to know we Should invest in when everyone is trying To sell you a dream passive income Without doing anything The four-hour work week and all these Different things so it’s like could you Even trust where do you even begin and It all started a few years ago where i Was i was sitting there just scrolling On my social media and minding my own Business and i see this ad from russell Brunson where you can get a free book Just pay for the shipping i click get The book ship it out to my home and i Remember feeling this emotion this mix Of excitement and also being nervous And just like having this dopamine hit That i am now finally one of those People investing in myself i have a Bright future What i didn’t mention was that this was The beginning of me investing almost Everything that i made after that so Once i got my first client i made my First thousand dollars yes i got results But i reinvested everything i invested Into so many of these 997 courses just
Looking for the next shiny object the Next thing the easier path and we’re Being sold so many different things it’s Hard to see what is it that i truly need That can help me push me forward faster Because of the skills and the systems They give me not the hype and inspo and Events for an example we’ll talk about That here in a second The main beef that i have with this Industry Is not that i hate course creators or Anything i’m a course creator too It’s more the way that people sell their Courses the way the manipulative Sales tactics if you will where if you Just show up on this webinar and it’s Live when it’s clearly not and there’s a Countdown timer that is always fake and Then you just gotta get it here today or It’s gone forever for 99 Off here in my garage the course today Is uh 99 off today only That’s a good ad Gotta spread that knowledge why don’t You just become good at the product Development instead why don’t you build A community why don’t you focus on Creating better content and providing And serving people and why do you have To just like force feed this into People who are looking to get better who Are looking to develop themselves become Better human beings and learn new skills
For an example if you have a course that You want to sell and you want to help People you don’t go out there and invent A lamborghini and then go to airbnb and Book a night at the nicest place you can Find and then film an ad just to get Someone’s attention and then sell them On your trading course or your drop Shipping course or whatever it is right That’s not ethical if you sell them on The lifestyle and the course isn’t good Enough to just sell them on what they’re Going to learn then to me that’s kind of Like I don’t want to say scammy because the Product can still be good But why can’t we just sort of live life Like you would outside of internet you Know when the camera is off like i know People who have five different sports Cars and yes they can post about their Life it’s their new standards it’s their Life But it’s not like they use that only When it’s like recording time and you Switch it on and it’s more of like Here’s the standards and the life that I’ve built and i want to share with People just like everyone else does and It’s i think it’s more about the Intention behind it and who you actually Are and not pretending to be someone You’re not and look i don’t know about You but me i value time over everything
Right like money comes and goes but time Stops for nothing right we don’t get Time back and so if there’s a person out There who’s done what i’m looking to do They mastered the skill they spent all These years You know crafting their skill set their Toolbox and accumulating all of this Experience if i can just like pay that Person i look at a course for example Like if someone came here to the office And they would lay out everything They’ve learned and i could either get It myself or have my team here to learn This stuff i would be happy to pay for It if i know that that’s what i’m Looking for right now i think the Problem is where we get so distracted by This person living you know seems to be Living a better life than me and i want That life so i gotta do what they’re Selling me and and that’s where people Get confused you don’t invest in Hype you invest in skills and systems And if you compare courses to coaching For example or which is personal access Or events which is more like mind shifts Or masterminds which is more networking Now you have a framework now you know Kind of like okay what is it that i need Not this person has a fancy car this Person has a big mansion this person is Wealthy okay Did they make their money doing what
They’re teaching or did they make their Money teaching you what they were once Doing but it’s no longer doing because What they’re teaching is making them so Much more money maybe they couldn’t even You know sustain their lifestyle with What they’re doing so now they get to Teach instead and that’s why i have a Beef with the industry and i want to fix It instead of escaping and running from It i’m like how can i solve this problem How can i stand out be better be more Long-term focused and that’s what we’re Making this video to talk about it all Right so this is a little bit of Nostalgia because i found the course the First course that i bought Online and it’s called Instagram growth and monetization there We go this is even the pre-order page And yes i mean It’s not beautiful and i i love Josh 40 for an example good friend of Mine And here’s josue pena this was back in The day when instagram had engagement Groups and all those hacks so It brings back a lot of good memories All right so this was the book that i First bought that got me started and Then since then i bought for example Some ovens course accelerator that was 2000 up level was 6 000 And mostly to learn how to stay focused
And how to think on a deep level that’s What i i see in some ovens and then if You compare that to another course 997 For funnel hiking secrets this is mostly For six months access to click funnels The trainings are good but not everyone Needs this training at every single Level some people for example if i go Through them right now because i’ve been In this world so long it’s like okay I’ve already learned that a long time Ago e-commerce empire academy there was This was called six-figure funnels back Then e-commerce funnels this was mostly A distraction for me at the time because I didn’t didn’t build an e-commerce Business and i’m not saying the course Is good or bad i’m not recommending it Or saying that you shouldn’t buy it take That and compare it to this from niklas Text motion graphics you buy this for a Different reason right like you buy it Because you want to have one thing Better a little bit better Videos but you don’t buy it to have an Entire business to you know grow on Youtube for example this is another Example knowledge broker blueprint i Remember applying for a position to Build funnels for them a few years ago i Bought the course and everything and Helped me structure and expand my Extract my information from my brain Onto
Modules and lessons and everything is Great but they didn’t hire me back then They did hire me a few years later so All good there but then for example if You’re in this world you might get Recommended funnel scripts like hey you Need this it’s 797 but then like do you Really need it or is it like a good Thing to have so i bought this a long Time ago i haven’t used it in probably a Few years so is it really that important I don’t know it’s up to you fun liking Live a great conference it gets you very Inspired it gets you In the room with With the right people if that’s what you Need then great if you need the Trainings If you need more information then great Personally i know what to focus on so For me it’s a distraction i’m also an Introvert so i don’t like networking With people too much especially if it’s Strangers so i have my people have my Inner circle is good i’m good i don’t Need to go same thing with 10x grow con I feel like this is more broad market Hey common 10x everything never been I don’t really have desire to go right And so that’s where you look at Something and you say is this for me is This what i need right now or is this Kind of a distraction from what i’m Trying to build so and look that doesn’t
Mean that you can’t find good Information on youtube or google Or books i mean i have a great example Of one time when i paid a coach to show Me how to grow my business and i Remember paying 12 000 And this information was pretty basic i Mean i’ve learned more just on youtube Watching free videos so it’s not always Like the more you pay The more you’re gonna learn like Sometimes you pay more to get closer to A person but then again i’ve paid Thousands of dollars to another coach i Think that was also it was ten thousand Or twelve as well i had a few of these And i didn’t even get one-on-one access To him i couldn’t message him And you know in our inner circle and i’m Not here to talk about my stuff but like Bro I don’t hold back in my courses or Coaching like you have one-on-one access To me and so it’s it’s just weird how People always hold things Back behind the curtains and you gotta Buy the next 25 35 000 mastermind to get Access to them And i get it you know time is valuable But it’s just like maybe it’s better to Have a few you know fewer options and Offers And not be so Well i don’t want to be judgmental teach
Their own okay so to sum this up i think Instead of buying courses just because They’re shiny or because we think that This is going to be easier we’re looking For that one thing it’s going to change Everything for us i think we can look For more specific systems and processes That can compress the amount of time That it takes And so i have this mental framework that I go through in order to make these Decisions now and therefore i don’t buy As many courses it’s more calculated Investments where i’m buying one Specific thing so for example if i Wanted to scale my offers with youtube Ads i would buy a youtube ads course it Could be just like four videos how to Set them up The visuals and the strategy the Targeting and everything and i could get That Result in my ads live and scale the ads In a weekend or in a month instead of Going to Like i compare a lot of investments with Like college for an example and you go Like four years to university you Started this i know like i can buy a Course to learn something super fast or I can hire a coach you know to get that Access and ask questions maybe have him Review My ads or my you know whatever it is
Right But in order to do that you gotta trust The person you gotta do some research You gotta look into their community is This a community who love this person Are they promoting him as well or is This just someone like boasting about Themselves and just like talking about How good they are but nobody’s really Backing it up or is there genuine Results from the person not just Teaching this but also having results Doing it themselves and if you see a lot Of these things click and you don’t see A lot of red flags that that could be a Good person to invest in and then you Want to stay with that person and stay In that community and just find a place Where you feel comfortable Learning and you find that but you get Valuable tips and systems and processes And then you stay focused and you cut Everything out so you don’t go from Thing to thing to thing to shiny object You get it Oh and also the last thing that you Should definitely want to look out for Is people who sell you on how easy Everything is any legit entrepreneur Will tell you that building any type of Business is hard it’s hard work so you Don’t buy a course to make it easy and Get rich fast You buy a course to become good at
Something even though it’s hard it Becomes easier and faster but you don’t Get rich quick you get rich for sure and You never go give up so even if it takes You a little bit longer like even if it Takes you a year that’s still one year Instead of being 40 years doing Something you don’t want to do and so That’s it thanks for being here like This video if you find it valuable Subscribe if you haven’t post Notifications on i’ll see in the next One
